Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
  • Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and containers, by hand or using forklifts and other equipment
  • Assist team in giving breaks to operators as needed
  • Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
  • Enter transactions into ERP system (computer)
  • Responsible to keep assigned work areas clean
  • Attend training and/or meetings as required
  • Communicate any machine issues, such as improper functioning and blockages, to the appropriate personnel when necessary
  • Have a safety-conscious attitude in order to help prevent possible incidents from occurring that could harm not only yourself but other plant personnel as well
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures
  • Must be willing to perform any and all duties required by the supervisor
  • Attach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying information

Minimum Requirements

  • Quality-oriented with high attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Accurately record and enter data
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 75 pounds from floor to chest occasionally
  • Must be able to push or pull 200-pound barrels on dollies
  • Must be able to push or pull 1,000 pound Gaylord’s with pallet jacks occasionally
  • Repetitive Motion of hands and arms, good hand-eye coordination
  • Must be able to stand, bend, and kneel frequently
  • Must be able to climb heights as required
  • Must be able to work around fumes, heat, and large machines

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
  • Basic Math skills
  • Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license
